named-checkconf — named configuration file syntax checking tool

SYNOPSIS

/usr/sbin/named-checkconf [-t directory] [-v] [filename]

DESCRIPTION

named-checkconf is a tool to check the syntax, but not semantics, of the configuration file for named.

Options

-t directory

chroot to directory so that include directives in the configuration file are processed as if run by a similarly chrooted named.

-v

Print the version of the named-checkconf program and exit.

Operand

filename

The configuration file to be checked. The default is /etc/named.conf.

RETURN VALUE

named-checkconf returns:

0

Success.

1

Errors are detected.
