Communicator Improvements

Welcome to the first MPE/iX-Express. As part of the new MPE/iX-Express
software release process, you will now receive the Communicator every
three months. Depending on the timing, you will receive either an MPE/iX
release Communicator or an MPE/iX-Express Communicator announcing new
functionality now available on the last MPE/iX platform release.

In addition to the frequency of the Communicator, you may already have
noticed the Communicator has a new format and includes some content and
structure improvements. The Communicator content and structure
improvements are a result of valuable customer input that we continue to
receive from our customer surveys, user group meetings, and the newly
formed Customer Advisory Council (CAC). These improvements include:

   * Important Details Please Read headers within each article that
highlight information you need to understand.

   * Table of contents structure that represents our solution focus.

   * Pointers to articles within the table of contents that we
       recommend you read.

   * New page design with main headings in the margin.

System Information/Before You Install

option. Now you can install MPE/iX Release 4.0 subsystem products with
FOS dependencies without installing a new operating system.

Information about low-end systems with an 8 MByte controller card is
included to help you evaluate and perform the correct installation steps.
