This manual is structured as follows:
Chapter 1, Introduction, describes the organization of the
material in this manual.
Chapter 2, Syntax Checking Messages, describes the messages
which you might receive when you submit your source
code to your COBOL system.
Chapter 3, Code Generation Messages, describes the messages
which you might receive when native code is being
generated.
Chapter 4, Run-Time System Messages, describes the errors
reported by the run-time system and looks at how
you can code your programs both to trap these
errors and, where possible, to recover should you
receive one.
Chapter 5, File Status Codes, lists the file status codes
which you might receive.
Appendix A, SAA, OSVS and VSC2 Implementation Limits, lists the
flags raised by SAA, OSVS and VSC2.
