Initial Installation Problems
Follow this sequence of steps after the initial installation of the
software. At the end of each step, if you encounter a problem, stop at
that point until the problem is fixed.
Verifying the Data Communications
This procedure applies if the data communications software is being
installed for the first time. If the data communications software is
already installed, configured, and is in use, ignore this procedure.
To verify newly installed communications
software:
1. Verify the following values in NMMGR.
@NODENAME
@NETXPORT.NI.LAN1.PROTOCOL.IP
@LINK.SYSLINK
2. Start the network.
3. If no error messages are displayed, check the status information
that is displayed with the NSCONTROL STATUS command.
a. The following line is displayed when the network is
started:
PDS NETWORK SERVICE STARTED
PDSS NETWORK SERVICE STARTED
b. In the first section of the status display, look for the
following information:
SERVICE TYPE STARTED SERVER DESCRIPTION
PDS REMOTE YES PDSERVER
PDSS REMOTE YES PDSERVER PDS SERVICE
(stream mode)
c. In the third section of the status display, look for the
server name, PDSERVER.
d. If version A.02.00 is installed, then one PDSERVER process
