HP Resource Sharing for MPE/iX

Configuring Shared Resources

Shared discs, printers and plotters are administered through two
utilities, Resource Manager (RESMGR) and Disc Manager (DISCMGR).

When you want to make changes to these shared resources or to the way you
work with them, here's where to look in this Resource Sharing manual:

   * Resource Sharing default logon: RESSHR,PCUSER.SYS,PPC

       All Resource Sharing users are connected to the HP 3000 under one
       logon. See "Managing PC Users" in Chapter 4.

       To change this logon, including passwords, see "Changing the
       Resource Sharing Logon" in Chapter 10.

   *   Shared discs

       To add additional shared discs or sharenames, and to modify or
       delete existing ones, see Chapter 9, "Managing Shared Discs."

   *   Shared printers and plotters

       To add additional shared printers and plotters, and to modify or
       delete existing ones, see "Sharing HP 3000 Devices" and "Modifying
       a Shared Device" in Chapter 10

   * Resource Manager Utility (RESMGR)--lets you manage the way HP 3000
       disc space, printers and plotters can be shared by PC users.

       To examine or change the way RESMGR is configured, see
       "Configuring Resource Manager" in Chapter 10.

       To remove RESMGR configuration information from the system, see
       "Deleting the Configuration File" and "Deleting the Share File" in
       Chapter 10.

       To manage shared resources through commands, see Chapter 11,
       "Resource Manager Commands."

   * Disc Manager Utility (DISCMGR)--lets you connect to shared discs
       from MPE in order to manage shared files and subdirectories.

       To examine or change the way DISCMGR lets you use shared files and
       subdirectories, see "Configuring Disc Manager" in Chapter 12.

       To manage shared files and subdirectories through commands, see
       Chapter 15, "Disc Manager Commands."
