HP Resource Sharing for MPE/iX

Printer and Disc Diagnostic 

This section lists messages generated by the Resource Sharing Host
Diagnostic as the diagnostic tests are run.

PD 601   HP Resource Sharing verified correctly.  Version number  

The Verification Test was successful.  The number given is the composite
version number.

PD 602   Test Successful  

PD 603   This feature is not yet supported!   

This test is not available for Resource Sharing.

PD 604   No modules in message catalog; incorrect catalog  

Modules to be version checked were not found in the message catalog,
which may have been corrupted.

  Restore the correct message catalog and try again.

PD 605   Module kind incorrectly described in catalog  

The message catalog is corrupted, or the wrong catalog is being used.

  Restore the correct message catalog and try again.

PD 606   Cannot open message catalog; status number  

The message catalog is missing.

  Restore the correct message catalog and try again.

PD 607   Module missing version number; product version number  

The diagnostic has found a module that does not have a version number.

  Run the diagnostic in command mode to identify the module that is
missing the number.  Reinstall the module.

PD 608   Incompatible version numbers; product version number  

The Verification Test has found incompatible version numbers.

  Reinstall the module with the bad version number.

PD 609   Error returned from Diagnostic Interface #HDI error number  

An internal error has been returned from the Host Diagnostic Interface.

  Respond to the HDI error number and try again.

PD 610   Go/No Go Test Successful  

PD 611   Go/No Go Failed; See Failure Analysis above  

  Study the Failure Analysis text for corrective action.

PD 612   Go/No Go Failed; Refer to file name for Failure Analysis  

  Refer to the file named in the error message for more detail about the
failure.

PD 613   Go/No Go Subtest "name" successful  

The Resource Sharing subtest named in the message was successful.

PD 614   Message catalog access failure  

The message catalog has been corrupted or the program has accessed the
wrong catalog.

  Restore the correct message catalog and try again.

PD 615   Go/No Go successful; Should use logon username.account  

This is a status message only.

PD 616 - PD 900    

Not used.

PD 901   Cannot accomplish a connection to the shared disc  

Incorrect installation of Resource Sharing.

  With the RESMGR.PPC.SYS program, verify that there is a shared disc on
the group PPC in the SYS account, and that there is a share DIAGDISC
outstanding.  The share for DIAGDISC must be defined as:

   *   A block device share

   *   RWC attributes

   *   Pointing to the group and account PPC.SYS

   *   No password

PD 902   Creation of data file unsuccessful  

Resources are exhausted.

  With the RESMGR.PPC.SYS program, verify that that there is a share for
DIAGDISC outstanding.  The share for DIAGDISC must be defined as:

   *   A block device share

   *   RWC attributes

   *   Pointing to the group and account PPC.SYS

   *   No password

Increase any file size limitation on the group PPC. Verify that the
system has enough free disc space.

PD 903   Data file created, accessed but could not be closed  

Resources are exhausted.

  With the RESMGR.PPC.SYS program, verify that the sharename DIAGDISC is
correct.  The share for DIAGDISC must be defined as:

   *   A block device share

   *   RWC attributes

   *   Pointing to the group and account PPC.SYS

   *   No password

Increase any file size limitation on the group PPC. Verify that the
system has enough free disc space.

PD 904    

Not used.

PD 905   Data created & accessed, but disconnect failed  

Resource Sharing system error.

  Note the steps you were performing when the error occurred, then
contact your HP representative.

PD 906   Attempting to make a connection to "LP" for printer testing  

Device LP incorrectly configured.

  Use RESMGR to verify that a share exists for LP (choose ~~SHARE STATUS
f5).

PD 907   Creating the print data file  

Incorrect installation or out of disc space.

  Use the Version Check (verification test) diagnostic to verify that all
components of Resource Sharing are present.  Verify that there is
sufficient free disc space.

PD 908   Writing data to the printer data file  

Out of disc space or incorrect installation.

  Free more disc space.  Use RESMGR to verify that there is a share
outstanding for LP (choose ~~SHARE STATUS f5).

PD 909   Print file created, but close was not successful  

Resource Sharing system error.

  Write down the error number and message, then contact your HP
representative.

PD 910   Print file created, but disconnect failed  

Resource Sharing system error.

  Contact your HP representative.

PD 911   Data file created, but write was unsuccessful  

Out of disc space or incorrect installation.

  Free up more disc space.  Use RESMGR to verify that a share exists for
DIAGDISC. The share for DIAGDISC must be defined as:

   *   A block device share

   *   RWC attributes

   *   Pointing to the group and account PPC.SYS

   *   No password

PD 912   Data file created & written to, but read failed  

Incorrect installation of Resource Sharing product.

  Use RESMGR to verify that a share exists for DIAGDISC. The share for
DIAGDISC must be defined as:

   *   A block device share

   *   RWC attributes

   *   Pointing to the group and account PPC.SYS

   *   No password

PD 913   Directory creation failed  

Out of disc space or incorrect installation of Resource Sharing.

  Use RESMGR to verify that a share exists for DIAGDISC. It should be
defined as:

   *   A block device share

   *   RWC attributes

   *   Pointing to the group and account PPC.SYS

   *   No password

Increase any file size limitations on the group PPC.SYS. Verify that
there is sufficient free disc space.

PD 914   Directory created but could not be deleted  

Resource Sharing system error.

  Write down the error number and message, then contact your HP
representative.

PD 915   Print class "LP" does not have a device assigned to it  

Incorrect installation of Resource Sharing product.

  Make sure you have set up LP as an MPE class name.  Next, use RESMGR to
verify that a share exists for LP (choose ~~SHARE STATUS f5).

PD 916   No default Server logon string  

Logon string for the Resource Sharing server is incorrect.

  Use RESMGR to correct the configuration information for LOGON.

PD 917   Invalid Server logon string  

Logon string for the Resource Sharing server is incorrect.

  Use RESMGR to correct the configuration information for LOGON.

PD 918   Invalid Server logon string; non-existent account  

Logon string for the Resource Sharing server is incorrect.

  Use RESMGR to correct the configuration information for LOGON.

PD 919   Invalid Server logon string; non-existent user  

Logon string for the Resource Sharing server is incorrect.

  Use RESMGR to correct the configuration information for LOGON.

PD 920   Invalid Server logon string; no home group  

Logon string for the Resource Sharing server is incorrect.

  Use RESMGR to correct the configuration information for LOGON.

PD 921   Invalid Server logon string; incorrect password  

Logon string for the Resource Sharing server is incorrect.

  Use RESMGR to correct the configuration information for LOGON.

PD 922   Cannot create server process (PSERVER.PPC.SYS)  

The server program is absent.

  Restore the server program from current system backup tape.
