Host Diagnostic Interface
The Host Diagnostic Interface is the user's interface to diagnostic tests
for Resource Sharing applications. The errors explained here are
generated by this program.
HDI 101
Not used.

HDI 103 Internal Error; failure in Create/Release Known Sys Object

HDI 107 Message catalog open error number
Error occurred in opening message catalog CPDDG000.PPC.SYS.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP

HDI 108 No current product ID exists
A product identification code was not supplied to the intrinsics.
If you are using the command mode program (PPCDIAGC.PPC.SYS), enter the
PRODID command to set the product identification code to RESSHR for
Resource Sharing print and disc functions or RSBACKUP for Resource
Sharing PC Backup functions.
HDI 109 Unknown command
An unknown command was given to the command mode program.
Type a valid command or type HELP for more information.
HDI 110 Cannot open IPC Message File
You are out of disc space.
Free additional disc space and try again.
HDI 111 Unknown type of IPC message file access requested
System error. The diagnostic is not responding with the proper IPC
messages.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 112 Illegal type of IPC message file access requested
System error.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 113 End-of-file encountered during IPC message file access
System error.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 114 Unknown product ID given
An unregistered product identifier string was specified.
Correctly type the desired product identifier, or install the desired
product if not already installed.
HDI 115 Invalid product ID given
The product identifier specified does not have the proper syntax for a
product identifier.
Correctly type the desired product identifier. Type HELP to display
the product identifiers for all configured products.
HDI 116 Invalid product name specified
A product has been configured with an invalid product name.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 117 Invalid product number specified
A product has been configured with an incorrect product part number.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 118 Invalid diagnostic program specified
A product has been configured with an invalid name for its diagnostic.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 119 Invalid diagnostic catalog file specified
A product had attempted to register itself with an invalid name for its
diagnostic catalog.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 120 No diagnostic catalog file supplied
A product has registered itself with a diagnostic but no supporting
catalog.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 121 Number of products configured exceeds limits
A new product diagnostic cannot be added. The maximum number of
registered products has already been reached.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 122 No products are configured; check configuration file
The Host Diagnostic Interface cannot be used until at least one product
has been installed.
Install the products that have been purchased, then rerun the Host
Diagnostic Interface.
HDI 123 Error encountered in trace output file
The tracing output file has detected an MPE file error.
This is probably a lack of disc space. Free disc space and try again.
HDI 124 Tracemap: procedure ids not ascending
Procedure IDs must be contiguous and ascending in the TRACEMAP file.
None necessary. Tracing can still proceed, although the procedure
names will not appear in the output.
HDI 125 Tracemap: procedure ids not contiguous (within a subsystem)
Procedure IDs must be contiguous and ascending in the TRACEMAP file.

Check the product configuration (using PPCDIAG.PPC.SYS) and restore the
diagnostic program file named in the configuration.
HDI 140 Could not create the requested Diagnostic Interface
System error.

representative.
HDI 141 File is not a valid program file
The diagnostic attempted to check the version of a program and found the
file was not a program file.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 142 Entry point not found
The diagnostic attempted to check the version of a program by entry
point, but the target entry point was not found.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 143 Return statement not at the entry point
The diagnostic tried to get the version number from a program but was
unable to find it.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP

HDI 144 Invalid field found in version number
The version number is not in the correct format.

An attempt was made to get the version number out of the user label.

failure.

HDI 154 Non-existent module
The specified module was not found.
Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.
HDI 155 Invalid info string; info string not passed from interface
You probably tried to run the diagnostic from the system command
interface instead of from the Host Diagnostic Interface.
Run the diagnostic from one of the Host Diagnostic Interface programs,
PPCDIAG.PPC.SYS or PPCDIAGC.PPC.SYS.
HDI 156 - HDI 1200

HDI 1201 Catalog message system failure
An error was encountered when accessing the message catalog.
Restore the file from a current backup.

HDI 1203 Unexpected EOF encountered in input
An end of file was detected on $STDIN.
Rerun the program.
HDI 1204 Read error encountered on file name; error number number
An MPE file system error was detected while processing an include file.
Respond to the file system error and try again.
HDI 1205 Unknown command
The data typed in is not a supported command.
Correct and retype your input.
HDI 1206 Maximum "include" nesting depth of number exceeded
An attempt was made to nest "include" files deeper than allowed.
Verify that no two include files reference each other, creating a
recursive loop.
HDI 1207 Error in Opening file name; MPE file error number
An MPE file system error was detected while attempting to open an include
file.
Respond to the file system error and try again.
HDI 1208 A file name was expected here
The command syntax requires a filename to be specified.
Type a filename and proceed.
HDI 1209 No product ID specified and not default product ID
The command syntax requires that a default product ID be set with the
PRODID command or that you explicitly identify a product with its code.
Correctly type the product ID. If you don't know what it is, type HELP
to display the product IDs for all configured products.
HDI 1210 Product ID is invalid (possibly too long)
An invalid product ID was specified.
Correctly type the product ID. If you don't know what it is, type HELP

The SPECIAL command requires a test number.
