Chapter 1  What Is a Computer? 

Unless it is your job to manage your HP 3000 Series 9X7LX computer, the
answer that may come to mind is that a computer is whatever is sitting on
your desk--the video terminal and keyboard that you work with every day.
There is more, but these two pieces of hardware are your immediate
connection to the computer.
