SupportLink II 

Connect this modem to the terminal and use the terminal keyboard to set
the options.[REV BEG]


NOTE For remote console use, the internal jumper (located inside the modem, rear, left-side) should be set to position AA.
[REV END] Prepare the Modem 1. Set the terminal at 1200 baud. 2. Connect the modem to the terminal with an RS-232 cable. 3. Place the modem in INTERACTIVE mode. a. Turn the modem off and back on again (this puts the modem in an IDLE state). b. Hold down the Control key and type E; then press Return. The modem displays the following message on the terminal: HELLO I AM READY 4. Set the modem to run with non-standard settings. a. Type o (the letter, O) and press Return. The terminal displays the following: OPTION NUMBER (CR=QUIT,M=MENU)-> b. Type 1 and press Return. The terminal displays the following: 1. STD OPTIONS (Y=1, N=2) c. Type 2 and press Return. The terminal displays the following: OPTION NUMBER (CR=QUIT,M=MENU)-> You are now ready to configure the modem. Set the Options Be sure that you have prepared the modem, as explained in the preceding section, "Prepare the Modem". Table C-6 displays all the options for each configuration type. To set the options: 1. Type the number of the option to be changed and press Return. 2. Type the required value for the option and press Return. 3. Follow steps 1 and 2 for each option to be changed. 4. When finished setting required options, return the modem to IDLE. a. Type I at the prompt and press Return twice. 5. Disconnect the dial-out modem from the terminal and connect it to the appropriate port on the DTC. Table C-6.
