HP Predictive Support CE Guide For HP 3000 Series 900
Initiating File Transfer Activity
You can initiate all the file transfer activities (described in Table
5-1) as long as HP Predictive Support is not running.
Table 5-1. File Transfer Activities
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| | |
| File | Description of What Occurs When Implemented |
| Transfer | |
| Activity | |
| | |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| | |
| NORMAL | Transfers the HP Predictive Support event file (PSDCFILE) |
| | to the HP Response Center, provided there is data to be |
| | transmitted. If there is no data, a file transfer |
| | connection does not take place. Once the data has been |
| | transmitted, this file transfer option also allows any |
| | pending downloads from the HP Response Center to take |
| | place. |
| | |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| | |
| TEST | Starts a test of the file transfer mechanism by attempting |
| | to transfer the test file, PSDCTSTD, to the HP Response |
| | Center. This option does not allow downloads from the HP |
| | Response Center to take place. |
| | |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| | |
| FORCE | Forces a connection to the HP Response Center for the |
| | primary purpose of receiving downloads. A file transfer |
| | connection takes place whether or not there is data to |
| | transmit to the HP Response Center. This option also |
| | transmits PSDCFILE to the HP Response Center. |
| | |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| | |
| REQUEST | Connects to the HP Response Center to request a code word. |
| | The code word request file name is PSCODERD; the code word |
| | download file is PSCODEWD. This option also transmits |
| | PSDCFILE, if there is any data, and allows any pending |
| | ruleset downloads to occur. |
| | |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE Whenever file transfer is started, progress messages are sent to
the system console. Refer to Appendix F for an explanation of the
messages.
