You can add notes to the Performance Collection Software global log file
with the UTILITY program's SCOPE NOTE command.  The notes added with this
command are reported when a SCAN command is executed.

The SCOPE(XL) program can also write notes to this file to record
important events.  The NOTES command can control which of these notes are
listed during a SCAN function:

   *   If NOTES=OFF, notes are not printed during a scan.

   *   If NOTES=ON, all notes are printed during a scan.

   *   If NOTES=level, only notes set at a level that matches the one
       entered are printed during a scan.

Current notes levels are as follows:

   *   100 (user note, entered through UTILITY).

   *   102 (SCOPE(XL) is shutting down).

   *   105 (SCOPE(XL) was instructed to reread its PARM file).
