Tips for Displaying Data
Maximize the HP LaserRX/MPE window before you display a graph to get the
largest viewing area possible. This makes the graph easier to read, and
gives you more room in which to position multiple graphs.
HP LaserRX/MPE displays all graphs you select; that is, all graphs that
are highlighted. You can select all available graph types, but for
maximum effectiveness, four graphs selections can provide access to all
data without overlaying the displays.
Click anywhere on an overlaid (background) graph to bring it forward
(make it active).
When closing graphs that overlay one another, it is faster to close the
background graph first.
Due to the volume of data that HP LaserRX/MPE processes, the time needed
to display graphs and tables can be significant.
The following display-time guidelines apply:
* It can take longer to display a remote logfile than a local one
since the data must be retrieved over a serial or LAN connection.
* It takes longer to display several graphs than one graph.
* It takes longer to display a graph with a wide X-Axis than it does
to display a graph with a narrow X-Axis because of the increased
number of data points.
* It takes longer to display a graph in which the data points must
be summarized and averaged before being displayed. This happens
when the Points Every option is Hour or Day and the logfile that
you are accessing is a raw logfile or an extracted logfile without
summary information.
