HP LaserRX/MPE:Enhanced and Restructured
Both the new host software and the new PC software have B version
numbers. Versions previous to this release had A version numbers.
We refer to logfiles created with the old (A) version of SCOPE(XL) as A
format logfiles and logfiles created by the new (B) SCOPE(XL) as B format
logfiles.
You should not proceed with host software installation unless you update
PC analysis software at the same time so that both host and PC software
are compatible with the new logfile format.
As explained in the HP LaserRX/MPE User's Manual: Collection Software,
you must use the MPE host UTILITY program CONVERT command to convert
existing raw logfiles from the old A format to the new B format before
you can collect data with the new (B version) SCOPE(XL) and append that
data to your existing logfiles.
You must also use the UTILITY CONVERT command to convert any extracted (A
format) logfiles before you can use them with the new (B version) PC
software.
No backward conversion is available.
If you are currently exporting application or process textual data, you
may need to modify the data definitions of the output data file or
spreadsheet to reflect the changes in the textual data display. See
Appendix A for more information.
