Starting Day Option

The Starting Day option appears on the Draw Graphs dialog box.

Use this option to change the start date of the display interval.

Clicking a scroll arrow moves the time 1 day; clicking the shaded bar
moves the time 1 week; dragging the scroll box moves to any day in the
logfile. If Ignore Weekends is checked, weekends are skipped when you
adjust the start date.

Figure 10-71. Starting Day Option If you choose Last, the last complete period in the logfile appears. If you choose a day other than Last, the date replaces Last and becomes the starting day (the left-most entry) for the period displayed. The date is shown in the dialog box.

Figure 10-72. Starting Day Option with Scroll Date When you use the horizontal scroll bar on the graph to look at a different time period in the logfile, you change the setting for Starting Day in the Draw Graphs dialog box. Relative and Absolute Dates When you record a macro, you must be careful about how you change the date--it makes a difference whether you click or drag: * Clicking. As long as you click on the Starting Day arrow or in the shaded bar, the macro facility keeps the date relative to the last day in the logfile. * Dragging. If you click on and drag the scroll bar for the starting day, the macro facility will keep the date as an absolute date rather than a relative date. If you use some combination of clicking and dragging, the last movement made determines whether the date is relative or absolute. That is, if you click on the arrow several times then click on and drag the scroll bar, the date selected will be absolute. Also note that Last is always relative.
