Transferring Files
Once you have logged on to the remote host, you can transfer files from
your system to the remote host, or from the remote host to your local
system.
Transferring Limitations
The following types of MPE/iX files can be transferred to a remote host
using FTP: Standard MPE files, with fixed, variable or bytestream (as of
4.5) record format, and either binary or ASCII data types.
The following MPE/iX file types cannot be transferred with FTP:
* Keyed Sequential Access Method (KSAM)
* XL Keyed Sequential Access Method (KSAM XL)
* Relative I/O (RIO)
* Circular (CIR)
* Message (MSG)
* Bytestream files to pre MPE/iX 4.5 releases
* HFS (Hierarchical File System) directories
* PRIV (negative) file codes (such as IMAGE database files), and
* HPSPOOL (SPOOL XL) files.
In addition, undefined (U) record format files cannot be
transferred.
