Configuring and Managing Host-Based X.25 Links

Operation

With the introduction of host-based X.25 networking capabilities, a new
command has been added to MPE/iX. This command, DTCCNTRL,
allows MPE/ iX system operators to start and stop X.25 system-to-system
or PAD connection support, obtain status about whether X.25 or both X.25
and PAD support are up, and dynamically download a specified set of
configuration parameters to the card or to the DTC.

System Operator (OP) capability is required to use the DTCCNTRL command.

Dynamic Reconfiguration

Dynamic reconfiguration makes it possible to change a subset of
configuration values without resetting and redownloading the DTC. This
allows you to modify configurations without impacting all the users
accessing the system through that DTC.

Obtaining Status

The DTCCNTRL Statusfunction displays the current status of each DTC/X.25
Network Access cardinstalled in a specified DTC. Use the Status function
to determine whether or not X.25 or PAD support is currently active for a
DTC/X.25 Network Access card. See chapter 7 for more information on
obtaining status using DTCCNTRL.
