Using NS3000/XL Network Services

Remote Terminal Access: VT vs. RFA

Both VT and RFA can be used to access remote terminals. In either case,
a FILE command or FOPEN call must indicate that the file in question is
actually a remote terminal. If you specify the VTERM option in the FILE
command or the device parameter of the FOPEN call, the terminal will be
accessed through Reverse VT rather than RFA. In both cases the remote
terminal functions as a non-session I/O device. If the remote terminal
is accessed through Reverse VT, you do not establish a session on the
system to which the terminal is attached.
