Displaying Forms
The display of forms in HP Desk is significantly different from standard
form processing on the HP 3000. HP Desk makes use of its own version of
the ENTRY.PUB.SYS program for presenting and accepting forms information
using a program called FORMENTR.HPMAIL.SYS. This program is responsible
for all aspects of forms display in HP Desk.
FORMENTR controls the functions of reading (browsing) and adding
(collecting) batch file records to forms in HP Desk. It also makes sure
that forms are handled in accordance with HP Desk item restrictions, so
that for example, a user is not allowed to add batch records to a form in
the In Tray.
It also supports some special fields for use in forms. These fields
allow the automatic placement of such items as the current date, the HP
Desk user name of the person filling in the form and so on. Also
supported is the checking of filenames and data types. Note too that HP
Desk will support both VFORM and VFAST files.
