Chapter 15  Choosing the Best Customization Tool 

The previous chapters of this manual have explained how HP Desk can be
accessed programmatically.  However, the method you use depends on what
you are trying to achieve and the particular problems you have to
overcome.  This chapter provides a guide to the strengths of each method
and the considerations you have to remember.  You should read it before
you decide how you are going to access HP Desk.

The tools that are discussed in this chapter are:

   *   Script files.

   *   Application Data Passing.

   *   FSC.

   *   HP Desk Intrinsics.


NOTE  The HP Desk Intrinsics are only available with HP DeskManagerPLUS.
      They are a suite of programming calls that are available to
      programmers using COBOL, Pascal or FORTRAN. They provide a simple
      way for your application to access the mailing and other services
      of HP Desk.  The use of the HP Desk Intrinsics is detailed in the
      manual HP DeskManager Intrinsics.
