Active Functions 

This section describes the various active functions that are available in
script items.  The functions are presented in alphabetical order with
references to any associated functions and/or directives.

Some functions may require parameters or allow optional parameters.  The
syntax used to describe these is described at the beginning of this
chapter.  Remember that parameters may well be variables or the results
of other active function calls.
