HP DeskManager Customization

Script Files

A script file is an HP Desk text item that can contain a combination of
HP Desk commands, MPE commands or special script commands. When the
script is executed, the commands in the text file are performed.

Scripts can be used to do things such as, run an application program you
have written, choose and distribute HP Desk items (with comments if
necessary), or carry out repetitive functions. In fact, scripts can be
used to do almost anything an HP Desk user can do plus some extra things.

Individual users can create script files for their own personal use.
However, if you have been given the correct capability, you can install a
script file that you have written for everyone on your HP Desk system, or
a specified subset of people, to use.

How to create and use script files is described in Chapter 9 along
with some script file examples. Full descriptions of each of the
commands available is given in Chapter 10 .

NOTE Hewlett-Packard does not support the script files that you write, but supports the commands that are used in them.
