HP DeskManager Administration

NewWave Mail and AdvanceMail Availability

If you are running NewWave Mail and AdvanceMail as part of your HP Desk
system, you must start up the LAN monitor before users can log onto the
HP 3000. Use the PCMAILON command to do this.

Remember that for the PCMAILON command to complete successfully;

   * Sufficient LAN virtual terminal devices must be configured to
       support all of the AdvanceMail PC users.

   * The data communications software on the HP 3000 must be activated.
       This is done using the NETCONTROL command.

Further details on both of these tasks can be found in the Network
Manager Reference Manual. For NewWave Mail users, details can be found
in NewWave Mail Technical Guide For users of AdvanceMail version A.02.00
or later, details can be found in the AdvanceMail/PC Technical Guide
manual.

You can shut down the AdvanceMail and NewWave Mail mail LAN server using
the PCMAILOFF command. See Chapter 20 for command details.
