Getting Help
HP Desk provides Help information on your terminal screen for all the
commands and areas. You can type one of the following:
HELP If you want to read the on-screen Help system. See the
next page for details.
? If you want to know what commands you can use. HP Desk
lists all the commands you can use at that time.
HELP command If you are not sure what a command does, or how to use
it. Information about the command is displayed on the
screen.
HELP word You can also get help on some of the other words you can
use in HP Desk, such as ALL, CALENDAR, CLIPBOARD,
DISTRIBUTION, DRAWING, FIGURE, FOLDER, HPSLATE, HPWORD,
IT, MESSAGE, PACKAGE, TEXT or VISICALC.
Type EXIT Return to leave the Help system.
Further Information
* You can also use the PROFILE command to customize your Desk so
that an introductory Help banner is displayed whenever you move to
an area or open a message, package or folder. This Help banner
lists all the commands you can use where you are. See
"Customizing Areas" .
* If you need help when you are in the middle of doing something you
can press Suspend and then Context Help. Help is then displayed
describing the current command.
If no command is current, you are presented with the Help Main
Menu. When you have read through the Help information press Exit
Help and then press Resume to return to the task you were working
on.
When you type HELP Return HP Desk displays a list of topics, much like a
book's Table of Contents.
To use the Help System:
1. Type HELP Return to list the contents of the Help system. For
example:
Intray > HELP Return
2. Type a topic number and press Return to make a selection from the
Help menu. For example:
Choose a number or press a function key >> 2 Return
HP Desk then displays the Help information requested.
To print the current page of Help:
* Type PRINT Return. For example:
Choose a number or press a function key >> PRINT Return
To leave the Help system:
* Type EXIT Return. For example:
Choose a number or press a function key >> EXIT Return
