Connecting to a DBEnvironment
Attempting a CONNECT may result in the display of several messages. When
an application issues a command to connect to a DBEnvironment,
ALLBASE/SQL first attempts a local connection. If one of the following
conditions exists on the local node, ALLBASE/SQL attempts a remote
connection:
* There is no ALLBASE/SQL software on the local system.
* There is no file with the DBEnvironmentName referred to in the
CONNECT command on the local system.
* There is a file with that name, but it is not a DBECon file on the
client system.
If the remote connection is not successful, one or two error messages are
returned, as shown in the following illustration.
