ALLBASE/SQL Reference Manual
DROP PROCEDURE
The DROP PROCEDURE statement deletes the specified procedure.
Scope
ISQL or Application Programs
SQL Syntax
DROP PROCEDURE [Owner.]ProcedureName [PRESERVE]
Parameters
[Owner.]ProcedureName specifies the name of the procedure that is to be
dropped.
PRESERVE specifies that EXECUTE authorities associated
with the procedure should be retained in the
system catalog.
Description
* If you do not specify PRESERVE, the EXECUTE authorities associated
with the procedure are removed.
* If a rule attempts to execute a procedure that has been dropped,
the rule will fail and all the effects of the statement that fired
the rule are undone.
* The DROP PROCEDURE statement does not drop rules that invoke the
procedure. All rules invoking the procedure are preserved.
* The DROP PROCEDURE statement will invalidate stored sections that
depend on invoking the procedure from a rule. The loss of the
procedure will be reported as an error when there is an attempt to
revalidate these sections.
Authorization
You must be the owner of the procedure or have DBA authority to use the
DROP PROCEDURE statement.
