HP Business BASIC/XL Migration Guide
Recommended Migration Procedure
We recommend the following procedure for migrating a forms file to HP
Business BASIC/XL.
1. Back up the forms file using BACKUP, DUPL, and FVBACK (as
described in the BASIC/260 Utilities Manual).
2. Make listings of the forms using the PFORM utility on the HP 260
(as described in the FORMS/260 Reference Manual).
3. Create an unprotected copy of the forms file, as shown in the
example below.
COPY "MYFILE" , "PASS" TO "MYFORM"
4. Move the forms file to the HP 3000 using the ARCHIVE TRANSFER
softkey.
5. Run the migration aid to change FORMS/260 forms to VPLUS/3000
forms. The migration aid automatically calls FORMSPEC.PUB.SYS to
create the VPLUS/3000 form file. Use the FORM command, as shown
in the example below.

Figure 21-1. Changing FORMS/260 Forms to VPLUS/3000 Forms
VPLUS allows you to keep several forms in a single forms file. You
identify each form with a unique form name. Migrated HP 260 forms are
given the same name as the input file and placed in separate forms files.
In the example above, the third parameter in the FORM command is the
message file that all output from FORMSPEC is sent to. Any error
messages that occur are also sent to this file.
