Chapter 9 Planning Your Migration from BASIC/V
Introduction
Follow the steps below to plan your migration. These tasks are described
in detail in this chapter, except where noted.
* Be sure you have all the software you need for a successful
migration. See "Do You Have all the Software You Need?" in this
chapter.
* Back up your files. Keep a store tape. Refer to your operating
manuals for instructions.
* Set up account structures on the MPE XL system. One suggested way is
to use separate accounts for BASIC/V source code and HP Business
BASIC/XL source code:
* OLDBV (for BASIC/V source)
* NEWBBXL (for HP Business BASIC/XL source)
Consult your system manager or refer to the MPE XL Commands Reference
Manual for information about setting up accounts and groups.
* Move files to the MPE XL machine. See "Moving Files to the MPE XL
Machine" in this chapter.
* Examine potential problems. See "Examining Potential Problems" in
this chapter.
