Handling Tape Requests
If your system does not answer tape requests automatically, you must
answer them with the REPLY command after preparing the tape and the
device. If your system answers automatically, you only need to prepare
the reel tape and tape drive for use.
To display a tape request
1. At the console, hold down the CTRL key and press A.
2. When the "=" prompt appears, enter:
RECALL Return
The computer responds:

The number 13:57 is the time, #S25 is the session number, 43 is the
process identification number (PIN) and 5 is the logical device number
(LDEV).
You need to know the user's PIN and the tape drive LDEV number in order
to respond.
If there are no tape requests or pending replies, the computer responds:

When the computer responds to the RECALL command, it does not
automatically display the system prompt on the screen. Press Return to
get the prompt again.
To respond to a tape request
1. Mount the tape and prepare the tape drive.
2. At the console, hold down the CTRL key and press A at the same
time.
3. At the "=" prompt, enter the REPLY command, specifying the PIN and
the LDEV number of the request to which you are replying:
REPLY 43,5 Return
As soon as you press Return, the BUSY light on the tape drive comes on,
or the tape begins moving. Also, the system tells you what files it has
copied by listing them on the console.
