Searching File Directories There are two directories with addresses of files: the temporary file directory (job file domain) for the addresses of temporary files and the permanent file directory (system file domain) for the addresses of permanent files. There is no directory for new files. When both directories are searched for a file address (for example, when you open a file with the domain option set to OLD), the temporary file directory is searched first.
