Appendix C ACCESSING A REMOTE DATA BASE If you want to use QUERY to access a data base that resides on a remote HP3000, there are three methods available using Distributed Systems (DS/3000) and/or Network Services (NS/3000). Included in this section is information on both DS and NS. Either of these services can be used in Methods 1 or 2. Refer to the note in Method 3 for restrictions when using a data-base-access file. For complete instructions on operating remote sessions, refer to the DS/3000 Reference Manual or the NS/3000 User/Programmer Reference Manual.
