Configuring an HP X.400/HP Desk Node
You need to configure each HP X.400/HP Desk Node that is connected to HP
X.400 using HP Desk.A maximum of 200 HP X.400/HP Desk Nodes, adjacent
MTAs, and API clients can be configured.
To configure the HP X.400/HP Desk Node,
* Select HPDESK from the Configure X.400 Menu.
This displays the Configure HP X.400/HP Desk Nodes screen.
Figure 7-9. Configure HP X.400/HP Desk Nodes Screen
NOTE If you are configuring X.400 for the first time, this screen does
not display any HP X.400/HP Desk Nodes. If you are reconfiguring,
this screen displays the list of HP X.400/HP Desk Nodes that have
already been configured.
The fields on the screen are:
Node Name
Display. NS node name that identifies the HP
3000 MPE V or MPE XL system connected to X.400.
This is the node on which the HP X.400/HP Desk
software is installed.
NS Domain.Org
Display. NS domain and organization for the HP
X.400/HP Desk Node.
Alias Node Name
Display. Alias name assigned to the node so
that the user can more easily identify node
names. If an alias is not entered when you
configure the node, the node name displays in
this field instead of the alias name. For
example, if node names are hpinda, hpindb, and
hpindc, you can assign alias names such as
Muskox, Rocko, and Jason so these nodes are
easily recognizable to the user.
Output Queue
Display. This directory name is automatically
assigned when the node is first
configured. The full directory name is
/usr/spool/x400/oq/ output queue. For example:
/usr/spool/x400/oq/oq001.
If you need to scrollthe screen,
* Press the Page Down key to scroll forward for additional entries,
or

any of these fields in HP X.400/HP Desk
Node's configuration is used to store
location/sublocation, leave these fields blank.
When you add an HP X.400/HP Desk Node, a routeis automatically generated.
The local MTAuses this route to determine which incoming messages are to
be routed to this HP X.400/HP Desk Node. The following attributes
determine the route:
* Country
* ADMD
* PRMD
* Organization Name
* Organization Unit Names 1-4
The route must match the O/R address configured in HP X.400/HP Desk for
the HP X.400/HP Desk Node. In general, the values entered should be the
same as the values configured in HP X.400/HP Desk. However, you may wish
to enter a wildcard in some attributes so that they match a number of
different values configured in HP X.400/HP Desk. See Configuring Routes
for an explanation of wildcarding. The attribute(s) where the
location/sublocation is stored should be left blank so it matches any
value.
Use x4rtview to check that the O/R address configured in HP X.400/HP
Desk routes to this HP X.400/HP Desk Node. Additional routes may be
entered on the routes screen, which is discussed later in this chapter.
When the fields on this screen are correctly defined,
* Press the Perform Task key to save the data in the configuration

Figure 7-11. Modify HP X.400/HP Desk Node Screen
For a description of the fields, refer to the Add HP X.400/HP Desk Node
screen field descriptions.
When you modify an HP X.400/HP Desk Node, its first routeis automatically
modified. The local MTAuses this route to determine which incoming
messages are to be routed to this HP X.400/HP Desk Node. The following
attributes determine the route:
* Country
* ADMD
* PRMD
* Organization Name
* Organization Unit Names 1-4
Additional routes may be
entered on the route screen, which is discussed later in this chapter.
After you modify the values for the desired fields,
* Press the Perform Task key to save the data in the configuration
file and a confirmation message displays. The screen clears and
