Installing and Configuring HP X.400 Administrator's Guide

Checking the Required Equipment 

You must make sure that all the necessary hardware and software required
to run the X.400 product is set up before you start the configuration.
This product's hardware and software requirements are:

Hardware: 

   *   HP 9000 Series 300, 400, 700, or 800 Computer System 

   *   802.3 (LAN) Card (if LAN connectivity desired) 

   *   X.25 Card (if X.25 connectivity desired) 

   *   Tape drive for system backups and updates 

   *   8MB (or more) memory 

   *   12MB of disk space:  8MB for the HP X.400 software and 4MB for
       message storage 

   *   30 MB (or more) of swap space 

Software: 

   *   HP-UX Operating System version 8.0 or later 

   *   OSI Transport Services/9000 version C.03.00 or later 

   *   The OS driver software supplied for the X.25 and 802.3 (LAN)
       Cards, which must be added to the OS kernel (refer to the HP-UX 
       System Administrator's Manual) 

   *   HP X.400 version C.03.00

   *   NS/9000 (Sendmail) if using the Sendmail connection 

Recommended hardware: 

   *   Modem and cable 

   *   Four port RS232 Mux Card
