Netware 3.11 for the HP 3000 Installing and Administering Guide

When to Change the Default Configuration

You will need to change the default configuration if you have other
Native Netware servers or other Netware for UNIX servers. Use the File
Server Worksheet instructions to determine whether or not you need to
update any (or all) the configuration items.

You must change the default configuration if:

   * You have another NetWare for the HP 3000 server using the default
       configuration.

   * You have other NetWare servers using an external network number
other than the NetWare/iX default (00000002) and the NetWare/iX
server is on the same network.

   * You want to use a frame type other than Ethernet 802.3.

   * You are setting up NetWare over a token-ring network cable.

   * You want to change the NetWare file server name (default is
       NWIX_DEFAULT).

   * Your LAN link is configured in NMMGR with a name other than
       DTSLINK. (The default assumes DTSLINK.)

   * If you want to add another network for example, add another LAN
card or token-ring card, or want to run two frame types over the
one LAN, see Chapter 7, Advanced Configuration.
