LOGICAL*1 Statement (Nonexecutable) 

The LOGICAL*1 statement, which is an extension to the ANSI 77 standard,
is a special case of the LOGICAL statement.  See "LOGICAL Statement
(Nonexecutable)"  for details.  The LOGICAL*1 statement is equivalent
to the BYTE statement, which is described in "BYTE Statement
(Nonexecutable)" .
