Hollerith Format The Hollerith format is available for compatibility with older programs and with some system routines. Hollerith constants are described in "Hollerith Constants" . A Hollerith constant has the same format when stored in memory as a character datum. Hollerith constants start on word boundaries. When passed as actual parameters, the word address is used (no descriptor).
