Automatic Conversion Most of the differences between COBOL II/V and COBOL II/XL result from architecture differences between MPE V and MPE XL based systems and related changes to the operating system. Also, COBOL II/XL does not support certain extensions to the ANSI standard that COBOL II/V does. If you do not use these extensions in your COBOL II/V programs, you should have few changes to make in migrating COBOL programs to COBOL II/XL. Because the migration requires so few changes to the programs, no automatic conversion utility is provided.
