Data Format Conversion Because of architecture differences between MPE V and MPE XL based systems, some conversion of data formats is required to perform a successful migration from COBOL II/V to COBOL II/XL. Refer to the first two items under "Conversion of Changed Features" in Chapter 3 for information on the $CONTROL INDEX16/32 and $CONTROL SYNC16/32 options that will ease the conversion process.
