Screen Painter Function Keys
Most screen painter functions are controlled from the terminal function
keys. Although the arrangement of the screen painter function keys
differs in detail for menus and data screens, the function keys consist
of the following function key sets:
* Main Keys
* Layout Keys
* Sequence Keys
* More Keys
When you start work on a new screen, the painter initially loads the Main
Keys function keys. If you use the painter to modify an existing screen,
it presents the Layout Keys as the first set of function keys.
The Main Keys allow you to create input and output fields on data screens
and windows, and create action items on menus. On all types of screens,
the Main Keys also allow you to create special text items and system
items.
The Layout Keys allow you to move, copy, or delete fields on all types of
screens.
The Number Keys allow you to display the field numbers on automatically
numbered data screens and windows, and modify the numbers on manually
numbered data screens and windows.
The More Keys function keys provide a number of utility functions. Refer
to "More Function Keys" elsewhere in this chapter for details.
