Chapter 8 Module Builder This chapter describes the HP ALLBASE/4GL module builder, its capabilities, and the developer screens used to build an application module. The HP ALLBASE/4GL module builder facility creates a data or resultant screen and a number of HP ALLBASE/4GL items to provide a full maintenance or inquiry screen for an HP ALLBASE/4GL file. This screen allows the user to view or update the records within the file. The module builder uses a number of templates when creating a module. These templates are stored in library applications. The first part of this section describes the operation of an application module built by the module builder. Module operation is described from the user's perspective. Described next are two developer screens: the module builder screen and the module details screen, which you use to create an application module. The final part of the section describes how HP ALLBASE/4GL constructs a module and the templates it uses to do this.
