Introduction to MPE XL for MPE V System Administrators

Features

One of the most significant new features of MPE XL is the SYSGEN utility,
with its various Configurator subsystems. Of these, the I/O Configurator
is of immediate interest to System Administrators who will be responsible
for the logical addition, modification, and deletion of peripherals.

Changes have been made to the way in which unspooled files, interactive
jobs, and interactive data are handled. Procedures for transferring disk
and tape resident spoolfiles from MPE XL to MPE V are provided.

The MPE V/E disk space reporting utility, FREE5, has been replaced by a
new utility, DISCFREE.

A new command, ECHO, and several new parameters to the :SET command, have
been added to provide increased flexibility in the management of terminal
characteristics.
