MPE V/E and MPE XL Tape Compatibility MPE V/E SYSDUMP tapes are migrated to MPE XL through DIRMIG. After migration, files are restored to disk through a RESTORE menu. MPE V/E STORE tapes are fully compatible with MPE XL. You can migrate MPE V/E user files to an MPE XL host system and then include the files as part of the complete system backup. For more information on migrating files, refer to the Migration Process Guide (30367-90007). To transfer STORE files from MPE XL to MPE V/E, use the TRANSPORT option of the MPE XL :STORE command. Note, however, that MPE XL files that are not compatible with MPE V/E due to file/record size limitations in MPE V/E will not be stored using the TRANSPORT option SPOOK tapes from either operating system are compatible.
