Preparing to Store Files Before you begin to store files, identify which backup device you will use. Then select the tapes you think you will need, label them, prepare them, and mount the first media unit(s) on your backup device(s). If you are using multiple backup devices, select, label, prepare, and mount the backup media for each device. The best way to use your backup devices depends upon your system configuration and the characteristics of the set of files you plan to store.
