Downshift Word
Purpose
Converts the alphabetic characters in one or more words to lowercase.
Default Syntax
[n] CTRL v
where n is a count that represents the number of words to convert to
lowercase. The default value of n is 1.
Description
This command converts any uppercase alphabetic characters in one or more
words on the cursor line to lowercase. Non-uppercase alphabetic
characters remain unchanged.
When you execute the command, HP EDIT converts the number of words
specified, converts all uppercase alphabetic characters to lowercase, and
moves the cursor to the first character of the next word. If the cursor
is not positioned on the first character of a word, HP EDIT does not
downshift characters to the left of the cursor.
If you specify a greater number of words for conversion than words
remaining on the cursor line, HP EDIT converts the remaining words on the
line and moves the cursor to the last character of the line.
