Output Routing Problems
This section contains information intended to enable the node manager to
resolve problems related to erroneously routed output returning from the
host.
Unrouted Data Stream Expected
Unrouted output from the host can be routed to a specific device by
passing a parameter which identifies the respective device ID with the
appropriate RJE/XL command.
Routed output from the host is preceded by an escape sequence (IBM
2780/3780 point-to-point select code) at the start of each output record
(for IBM 2780 emulation) or output data set (for IBM 3780 emulation) from
the remote processor. (The escape sequence tells the system what device
the output should be routed to). The RJOUT command allows the user to
initiate the receipt of routed output data sets from the remote
processor. If the RJLIST or RJPUNCH) command is used instead of the
RJOUT command, the correct command must be paired with routed punch
output or routed list output. (Otherwise, a routing error will occur.)
Check all related routing and file information for the output commands in
chapter 3 and appendix B of the RJE User/Programmer Reference Manual.
Output Routing Verification
TheRJIO command allows the user to send a one line message to and receive
a response from the host. IBM HASP messages (for example, $DJ) can be
passed as RJIO parameters to get job output.
For additional information on the RJE/XL commands available, refer to the
RJE Programmer/User Reference Manual. The RJHELP command will also
provide the user with a list of the command syntax for all the RJE/XL
commands.
