DSCOPY of NM KSAM XL Files to Pre-5.0 MPE/iX Systems

A problem may arise if you attempt to DSCOPY a native mode KSAM file that
was built on an MPE/iX Release 5.0 or later system to a pre-5.0 system,
if the KSAM XL file has a blocksize other than 4K bytes. DSCOPY on the
receiving pre-5.0 system will detect that the blocksize of the newly
created target KSAM XL file does not match the blocksize of the source
KSAM XL file, and will end with the following error messages:
SOURCE AND TARGET FILE ATTRIBUTES MUST MATCH.(NFT/3000 ERR 51)
CONFLICTING ATTRIBUTES OR OPTIONS. (NS/NFTERR 19)
This problem is documented as KPR#4701-203588.
This problem is fixed with a patch to your MPE/iX 4.0 system. If your
4.0 system has 4.0 PowerPatch Express Release B.40.06 or later, you
already have the patch. Otherwise, you should contact your HP Support
Representative to apply the latest 4.0 NS patch. (No patch is available
for other pre-5.0 Releases).
After applying the patch, if you DSCOPY an MPE/iX Release 5.0 or later
KSAM XL file with blocksize other than 4K bytes to a pre-5.0 system, you
will get a warning message:
TARGET BLOCK SIZE BEING CHANGED DUE TO FILE SYSTEM
DIFFERENCES
The transfer then completes successfully.
