Business BASIC/V version A.02.11 is also available for Compatibility Mode. These versions of Business BASIC contain numerous defect fixes. Refer to the System Release Bulletin for details on the defects fixed and the known problems that are still open. All defect fixes in General Release Patch BBXFXB3 have been incorporated into this release. Compatibility with Previous Versions One compatibility issue is that some programs compiled with this new version will get an undefined external when an attempt is made to run them on a system containing a previous version of the Business BASIC runtime library. This occurs because a call is now being generated to a new routine, BB_OUT_SPEC_EOL, which does not exist in older versions of XL.PUB.SYS (SL.PUB.SYS for Compatibility Mode programs). Backwards compatibility of this kind has never been supported, although in practice, it has sometimes worked in the past.
