HP DeskManager Intrinsics

Investigating Problems

The Intrinsics make entries in the Audit and Statistics files in the same
way as HP Desk does. For example, whatever logging HP Desk signon does,
HPDUserSignon does the same. You can use these files to investigate what
has happened if things go wrong. For an explanation of the Audit and
Statistics files refer to the manual HP DeskManager Administration.

The Intrinsics will also log certain situations to the system operator's
console and a central message log file in the HPOFFICE account. This log
file can be examined on screen with an editor, or printed.[REV BEG] The
name of the log file is INTRNLOG.MAILDB.HPOFFICE. This file is a circular
file created as part of the Mailmaint.[REV END] The situations logged are
signons and error or warning situations that need to be brought to the
attention of the system operator. Warning and information messages may
be configured to appear only on the system operator's console or both on
the console and in the log file. This configuration is done using
MAILCONFIG. For more information on MAILCONFIG refer to HP DeskManager
Administration.
