The HP3000-L electronic mailing list began in the late 1980s as a forum for information exchange between users of HP3000 computers - users and vendors alike. The list is maintained by Jeff Kell <jeff@utcvm.utc.edu> at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. In the early 1990s, when the comp.sys.hp newsgroup (predominantly HP9000 users) voted to split further, comp.sys.hp.mpe was created, and HP3000-L was merged into the newsgroup via the netnews gateway at American University.

If you have a news server configured in your web browser, you can go to the newsgroup now. To join the HP3000-L mailing list, send a message to <listserv@utcvm.utc.edu> with the text "subscribe HP3000-L Your Name" (of course, substitute your real name for "Your Name"). If you wish, you can subscribe now.
