CPU Donor
  • Birket reports on his meeting with a CPU donor. The donor is not interested in donating funds to OpenMPE, thinks the amount desired is too high. However the donor has a machine ready and has most of Jazz on it.

    • Q: Tony: What questions are we allowed to ask?

    A1: "Are you aware of OpenMPE?"

    A2: "OpenMPE is applying as a candidate for a license from HP, would you be willing to support that?"

  • would like an account on Invent3K and would be willing to pay a fee.
    A consultant is looking for work. Birket will contact. Donna may solicit him for volunteer work.

    Jazz, Invent3K    		 Matt reports Invent3K replacement machine is up and running. Except subdirectories obtained with WGET and the gnu gcc compiler. Has CSLT and full backup tapewill also need to purge private accounts.
    Test web jazz web page was tested:
  • Reminder: HP logos should be removed, and all references except copyright.
  • Suggested that a link to the HP document authorizing OpenMPE to host Jazz content should be added. "Terms and conditions here." link.
  • Should links back to HP be retained? E.g.: "Where to buy?"
  • It is noted that other sites who have Jazz mirrors will not be a complete as ours.
  • Members tested OpenMPE's Jazz site during the meeting.

    Vendor Jazz Content?    		 Discussion whether 3rd parties should be contacted to donate software for download purposes.
  • Donna to send draft letter to bayside vendors and who else for people to look at and comment on.

    Emulator    		 Discussion of Board's emulator intentions. Emulator licenses are available from HP and is on their corporate price list. An emulator can also be obtained from Client Systems.
