A recreational consumer products company identified a 9 month implementation schedule to include core process requirements in Sales, Finance, & Manufacturing. Two months into the project, the company identified additional functionality in distribution, warehousing, and forecasting that were desired benefits. Considerable process changes were required in the Sales & Finance functions to account for the additional desired functionality. Additional internal and external resources were required, project budget was exceeded, and the project milestone date was missed by 3 months.
